I've had a passion for photography since 1999. I remember when my high school asked me to design their web site and handed me a 1 point something megapixel camera to take photos of the school and it's facilities. What a tank that camera was! I was pretty fascinated by the idea of not having to take a photo with film, develop it and then scan it.
I bought my first point & shoot digital camera in 2003. It was a Canon A70 and it boasted a whopping 3.2 megapixels, hah! Regardless of it's image resolution and lack of features, this is where I learned the fundamentals of photography and soon became very addicted to the art of caputuring and manipulating light.
My first Digital SLR was a Canon 30D. Although out dated, I spent the past 5 years learning how to use this camera like the back of my hand. Literally. Most of what I know today has been self taught, although, I would be lying if I were to claim to have gained the knowledged I have today all by myself! Douglas Stanley, owner of Dreamwave Media Inc. provided me with an opportunity of a life time! He hired me as his only photographer to work with his videography crew in Whistler, BC during the 2010 olympic games.
Since then, my obsession for photography has grown like a wild fire. I've since upgraded to the Canon 7D added some lights and lenses to my arsenal and taken on several paid jobs including weddings, architectural and wildlife safaris. I love all aspects of photography! Although my real passion is photographing sports, action and wildlife I'm challenging myself by taking on more portrait work.
